Here is what I learned about moving:
1. Don't move in July unless you like carrying heavy furniture in 100 degree heat
2. Don't purchase a house with 27 stairs leading up, down and all around
3. Don't assume that just because the new house is twice as big as the old one that all of your crap will fit
4. Don't be surprised when nothing works the way it should when you purchase a fixer upper.
5. DO expect to want to kill yourself and/or to end up crying hysterically
6. Don't expect to find anything you need for at least a week even if you carefully marked the boxes so you would know what is in them.
7. DO expect things to get broken.
8. DO expect to wonder how you acquired all of this crap and why you decided it was so precious you needed to take it all with you
9. DO expect to hate everyone and everything by the time the move is over
10. And last but not least, DO thank everyone who came and worked so hard all day in the hot sun. Thank you guys! We love you and we couldn't have done it without you. We are forever in your debt!
